First the the bad news, my vonage adapter box will not adapt to the Taiwanese router I have here with my new internet provided and my old router from back home that I brought over is not compatible with the Taiwanese network, so all in all bye bye vonage. So I'm going to have to embrace this scipe thing that everyone here seems to be using. I'll give everyone more details on how it works in the next couple of days after I've really talked to Japie about it.
My b-day today was really good though. Japie, Sarah, Chelsea, Tim and I all went to this outdoor pool/restaurant up in the moutains which was so beautiful. I really have to try and get out of my secure little bubble here and venture out to discover Hsin Chu because the mountains here are really fantastic. What we did was just sit out in this really cool county club type place that anyone can hang out at as long as you order a drink and some food, and access to the pool is free. We sat around and had a couple of drinks and some appies. We didn't actually go swimming because it was a little chilly today, okay it was prob like 24 degrees out but for here that's chilly.
Yesterday at Kindy we had our mothly b-day party for the October babies, and it was really fun. We let the kids put hair clips and face paint on us and then we walked around the neighborhood with our homemade Taiwanese flags we had made the day before in fun time to celebrate the moon festival and the Taiwanese independence day, which isn't until the 10th but we don't hav school that day (thank goodness). As we speak there's a fireworks show going on outsde my window, I've been trying to get a good picture of it but that hasn't worked all that well. Anyhoo, tomorrow I'm heading off to Taipei to visit my friends from training and have a good old Canadian/Taiwanese thanksgiving. We'll see how the food turns out....
But here are my pictures from the last couple of days. Some are from my party today and others are of one of my bushiban classes. Enjoy, and I really miss all of you a lot you don't even know.

Hey Lindsay!
Happy Birthday!! Sounds like you had a lovely day! That club that you went to looks beautiful!!
Things are good here! I'm enjoying work... they are giving me more responsibilty which is gratifying yet kinda scary at the same time... and I'm less intimidated of my boss now and I'm learning so much from her. She's really a force to be reckoned with, plus she's beautiful and glamorous and I rather idolize her!
I'm not too sure what I'm going to do for my birthday since I'm working that day and I'm usually pretty tired after work... I was thinking of something low-key like just hanging out at a pub or something but I dunno... wish you were here!!! My birthday just won't be quite the same!
I'll talk to you soon!!
Love, Kat
I love that you can get away with being 21. I had a women tell me she thought I was 18 the other day. Guess I cannot feel too bad about being a stones throw away from 26.
I love seeing the photos. I will definately need them when the snow starts here in K-town. I think it is going to be a bad winter... nose hair freezing cold here I come:(
