No real internet as of yet...

Well I'm not going on strike because of the internet, I still have hope that this week they'll call me and actually install it. But the last week has been fun. Last Thursday was 'Teacher's Day" and one of my little kindy kids got me a really nice bath and shower basket. I've only been her teacher for like 2 weeks, but hey when in Rome. This weekend I tried to explore a little bit of the downtown core and I finally went into the major department store here called "SOGO". It's really high end, it's like a huge Holt Renfrew. I have no idea how the people here can afford to buy anything there, since the prices are really quite high for everything and the average salary here is really low. It's full of top end designers from all over the world. There's one I really like called the Scotish Dog or something. It's cute. But remember Lindsay you're here to save money to pay back your student loans, oh right........ No I didn't buy anything from there, but I did buy a cute Puma hoodie from a sports store. I also checked out a really cool temple here. They kind of looked at me like I was a little crazy when I started taking pictures of everything, but the good thing about not being able to speak the language is that I have no idea if I offended anyone...I'm assuming I didn't. Also when I was in the mall and I was having my japenese curry platter thing for dinner (I took a picture of it to show what I usally eat everyday for meals, it's fricking massive and cost me like $3) some Philaphino guy started to talk to me. It was nice actually talking to someone here who could really speak english. He was telling me about how he has a friend in Taipei who works for HESS too, we're everywhere I swear. He also thought I was 30, a little random since 99% of the rest of the world believe I'm between the ages of 17-20. It was a little random, but also nice to talk to someone who doesn't work at HESS. He was telling me all about the good vaction spots in the Phillaphines that foreigners like to go to. I really want to go to the Philaphines for my first vacation. That's why I'm starting the Lindsay Foundation. With your proceeds young broke students will be able to travel south east asia with the help of your generous donations, no seriously...

But I want to hear about what's going on in your lives. Shannon just had a b-day and I don't know what you did for it (god you're old man, 24, woo) also Di I had a dream the other night that you got a really good job and you were telling me all about it, so it's meant to be man, destiny is at play. Also I want to shout out to Kat, happy almost b-day. But seriously I want to hear from you guys, since I still don't have a phone. Keep your Taiwanese friend here posted. Oh yeah I checked out the Roots store here, it was weird being in a store where everything had the word Canada in it and Asian people were buying it. Random. But here are my most recent pics. Enjoy.

Wow cool pics! Food looks yummy! Well I'm a little under the weather here... seems that public transit is finally taking its toll on me... In other news I bought your birthday gift and it will be in the mail tomorrow... I have not idea how long it will take to get there but if it doesn't show up by your birthday just wait a few more days It will show up I promise! Also I don't remember if you already have part of your gift (yes, there are parts) but I really hope you don't... seriously if i already bought it for you I'll be so embarrassed! My memory is not what it used to be! anywho you'll see it when it gets there!

Okey dokey I have work tomorrow and I have to get my sleep!

Hi Hon

I have to admit if I hear another one of you complain about turning 24 I might have to start throwing punches:)
K-town is getting cold and all I want to do is move back to Van. I keep thinking about what I will pack at xmas.
The only other news is that my computer is busted. It needs a new hard drive. Of course the warranty has expired so I get to incur the entire cost. Still haven't been told the final damage. Luckly, the school has a laptop I can use til I get mine back.
Keep having fun and enjoy yourself. Remember the thing about travelling is no one back home knows what you have done unless you tell them

Thank you for the birthday wishes! My birthday was sedate but enjoyable. We went to the Keg, where I had a fantastic pecan-crusted sirloin with goat cheese and a red wine herb sauce. Mmm. Life here is pretty good, my CUPS partner thinks I'm fantastic, and I really wish I could stay there all year instead of going to my stupid Girls' School.

I haven't mailed your gift yet because, well, I haven't really figured out what to get you that would be useful to you in Taiwan, and at the same time not super expensive to ship. If there's anything you really need, let me know.

I get the idea you finally got internet (the "glorious" comments on your msn name tipped me off). Hopefully life continues to be good there.

I need to go see a stupid Jet Li movie with Greg's cousin and his wife now, which sucks because I'm not going to get to bed till after midnight, and marriage finally got me going to bed before 2 am, so now I'm cranky when I have to stay up late. Basically, I'm you now, except not as extreme. Anyway, the point of that outpouring of words is that I need to go. Hopefully we can talk soon.
