My new thing

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since my last blog post. Not all that much has really happened since my last post. One new thing that I'm kind of excited about is that I've joined a gym, yes me. I know I'm not really a gym person, but the one I've signed up with is a "health club". Yes that's right I'm a snotty health club person now, very prestigious I must say. Well no it's not to tell you the truth, but it does offer some fun dance classes and it has a kick ass pool. So far I've tried the nike workout one and a latin dance class. Both have been a lot of fun. I forgot how much I love to dance. My nike workout instructor is pretty fun to say the least. After an hour of her class I'm spent to say the least. She also has booty. My theory is that she got J. Lo butt implants, because she's the only asian woman here in Taiwan with an ass. My latin dance instructor is fun too, she has a bit of a tummy, which is also strange, because the women here just don't have them. Oh the joys of my life. Yeah since I still haven't found the med student trying to find himself my theory is that I might pick up a cutie at my gym. On Wednesday some white guy was in my nike class with me and he was really quite horrible at dancing, and not really cute either so I didn't talk to him, poor guy. But back to my theory, yeah since I have so much free time here I'm planning on getting in shape. It's a pretty expensive monthly fee (well by Taiwanese standards it is, in Canadian it's pretty cheap) so I think I'm going to stick with it. Right now it's adding to my life.

Also I've decked out my kindie classroom for Christmas. On Wednesday I made an advent calender with my little munchkins. They don't really understand what it means, but it's fun so whatever. The weather here is getting a little bit chilly too. Not Vancouver/ Calgary cold, the low here is like 16 degrees (yeah I can't believe how crazy the weather has been back home, that's one nice thing about Taiwan.)

I'm a lot happier here now. I think the first month for most people is so busy and overwhelming that it kind of numbs you. The second month you come to the reality that holy s*it I just moved away from my friends and family to a new country where I have no support system whatsoever. You ask yourself if you made a big mistake. Now, I've accepted where I'm at and I'm starting to have somewhat of a social life. It's not like back home, but then my life for the last 3 years has centered around a boy and now I'm single. I'm finding that I'm doing more things for myself now that I just haven't had time to do for a long time. But I still miss all of you, and sometimes I have dreams that Vancouver is a suburb of Hsinchu and I go out with coffee with you guys, or I come over to your house for dinner.

But here are some pictures of the flower market here, and the glass mueseum. Japie and I went out there last weekend to buy x-mas presents.

The glass museum reminds me of a really fancy Enchanted Forest or something. It's like a little bit of BC tourist tack done up all fancy.

So, I have pretty much no news since talking to you on Friday other than that I'm handing in my final assignment of the semester tomorrow, and I still can't stand Greg's sister. You know, just for a little update.

So, I got the mail, and what was waiting for me? I really freaky little alien keychain with a heart on it. Good times, good times. The envelope and card looked like they'd been fought over by seagulls.

Oh, update on the not being able to stand Greg's sister... yeah, so, she's lived here for two months, she still doesn't have a job - nor does she apply them any - and she refuses to clean the apartment (that she lives in for free) or spend any of her money to buy Matt a gift in the yearly gift exchange. So now what is she announcing? That she's moving to Utah to marry this 29 year old guy she met in a chat room a week and a half ago. Apparently she thinks it's easy to get a work visa when you have no work experience. But aparently "God told her to go." She's f-ing nuts. And Debby just told her "to wait till he proposes." WTF!!! Seriously, I have never met two loonier people in my life.

Oh PS I hope things are going well there. We watched a PBS show about Taiwan yesterday.
