First off...the crocodile hunter is dead, and by a stingray no less!!!!Crazy, crazy, crazy. Anyway, well yesterday I had my first training session and it was good. I met all of the people in my training group, and there are some cute boys. Unfortunately they don't really live by me, which is really too bad, but I'm still holding out for the med student, so we'll see.
My roomate here is really great. Her name is Krista and she's from Vancouver as well. We have pretty much the same degree too from UBC (she's an international relations major)which is also a bit spooky. It's nice though having someone here I can talk about the city with.
The actual training yeterday was good. It was pretty long from 8:30am to 7pm, but it was fun. They made us sing songs infront of the class. Mine was called "Feelings": "I am happy, I am happy, I am sad, I am sad...", you get the point. I also discovered that I'll be teaching at 2 branches, one called Su Wei for my older kids, and the other called Ju bei for the little ones. My schedule looks pretty good. Monday-Friday I'll teach kindergarten from 9:30-11:30; mon, tues, thurs, fri I teach from 4:30-9pm and wednesday from 4:30-6:30. It looks pretty good, no saturday shift (as of yet), and the afternoon off to cook dinner (ok let's be serious, order out), discover the city, find cute med students, etc. My branch manager at Su Wei sounds like a really nice guy. His name is Japie and he's South African. Right now he's trying to put together a dinner with all of the teachers from both of the branches so that they can meet me.
It also looks as if I'm going to need to buy a scooter for sure, since I'm at 2 different branches. I asked Japie if someone will be able to teach me at the branch and he said he would find me someone. Yeah the driving here is crazy so it will be an adventure to say the least. Also after my training ends this saturday, I work for a week at my brnaches and then I'm back here for another week of training! Yeah I'll be living out of my suitcase for a while.
But here are my pictures from the last two days. I don't have any of the people from my training, but I'll take some today. Oh and the bus that picks us up every morning is totally tricked out like it's from the 70's. Krista and I call it our "disco bus". But anyhoo keep on commenting. And yes Christi your comments are hugely appreciated man, and that goes for everyone else too (but you're still special Christi).

Hi Hon!!
Just back from a weekend of fun with Carol. We definately get in a lot of laugh therapy when we're together! Chelsea and her boyfriend Josh(who I've gotten to know really well and like), just moved into their place together, with other roomies of course. They had us over for lunch, prawns and quien-wa. It was so cute!!
Does it feel good to be into the work part of your adventure? Your schedule sound great......... lots of daytime to roam around and explore and buy cheap clothes!
CHOWBELLA........MUMMIE
First off, thank you Di, yes I would glady appreciate all of the med students you are able to send my way. Secondly, Katrina, you know you're going to have to send me that lulu zip-up (six 8, grey colour). And lastly mommy, yes it feels good to be doing this part of my adventure, tonight though everyone is cranky b/c we have to prepare all night long for our classroom presentations for tomorrow. It's sucky, but I'll live. I miss you all.
